Let’s Put on a Play
Ages 5-8 <9:00am – 10:00am>
Through fun theatre games, zany improvisation, and unscripted scene work, students are introduced to dramatic concepts like characterization, story structure, and conflict. Students will create a performance piece based on a favorite story utilizing basic theatre skills including stage directions and vocal projection. Tuition: $60

Show Tunes
Ages 9 and up <10:00am – 11:00am>
Exploring different composers than previous sessions, students will sing and dance to some of Broadway’s greatest hits while learning basic musical theatre skills. Group songs as well as solos will be explored. Tuition: $60

Classes will be taught by Patrick Lathrop, actor, director, costumer and educator.  Patrick holds a BA in Theatre Performance, an MFA in Musical Theatre and an MA in Costume History and Design.  He has been a Teaching Artist for over 25 years with a strong background in non-tradtional, informal and museum education utilizing the Visual and Performing Arts to foster creativity and self-seteem in young people.  Patrick has worked with a variety of organizations including the Imagination Celebration of Orange County, Orange County Department of Education, Pasadena Junior Theatre, Pasadena UnifiedSchool District, and San Diego Junior Theatre.  Recently he worked with the San Diego Old Globe Theatre to help develop a new Shakespeare Curriculum for fifth graders.  He also served as the 2009 teacher and director for Coaster Theatre's Performing Arts Camp.
