Neil Simon’s side-splitting comedy, is the story of four couples who arrive at the house of New York City’s deputy mayor to celebrate his wedding anniversary. However, the party never begins because the host has shot himself and his wife is missing. The first couple to arrive, after seeing what has happened (it is just a flesh wound), try to cover up the situation to avoid a scandal. The cover up becomes increasingly difficult to sustain as more guests arrive and nobody can keep track of who has been told what! Hilarity abounds as doors slam and the situation spins wildly out of control! The arrival of two policemen at the height of the confusion prompts one of the funniest finales Simon has ever written.
